Your Annual Website Check-Up Checklist

As a coach or service provider, your website is everything. In the world of online businesses, your website is more than your front door — it’s your whole brand home experience. Nearly every person who ever works with you will connect with your website in some way, so you want to make sure that it’s accurate. Not just accurate in information (although that is a must), but an accurate representation of who you are as a brand.

Every year, at least, you should review your site to make sure everything is in tip-top shape, everything from your content to your backend linking and SEO.

Some of these things you can (and should!) do more often than once a year, but at least annually you should run through this website checklist to make sure your site is up to date.

Outsource this important annual business step by hiring Awake and Seek to do a Brand Audit for you! Not only do we review your website in-depth, but we’ll also review the entirety of your brand across the internet. You’ll receive a report and detailed plan of action to update your brand, including your website. Inquire now!

How is Your SEO?

Your search engine optimization (SEO) are the details on your website that help your ranking across the internet. Using the keywords you want to be found when being searched for is the most common way to add to your SEO ranking, but there are other details to consider, too.

Make sure each page in Squarespace is optimized for SEO in the page settings, that you’re linking to other reputable internet places, and more.

  • Are any domains available that you’d want to purchase?

Branding

Audience and Competitor Analysis

Did you learn anything new about your audience, competitors, or industry this year as compared to last year? What’s changed? Should that information affect your brand, content, or website in any way?

Even if you can’t make all these things right this moment, jot them down and plan for their update in the future with a more thorough Brand Audit.

Visual, Tone, and Offering Updates

Are your offerings up to date?

Is your visual brand consistent across your website, as well as across your entire internet presence?

The way in which you write, is that tone still accurate to your brand personality?
